Volunteer Opportunities

Become a Positive Role Model in Your Community

Volunteer Mentors serve for a period of one year, 4-8 hours each month, helping low income families move out of poverty. They work in teams of 5-8 people, with activities such as  transportation, help with budgeting, job seeking skills, tutoring children with school work and parents with GED classes. They provide support and advice, often a shoulder to lean on in times of crisis. Training is provided before volunteers are linked with families and on-going support and training opportunities are provided regularly by case managers and staff.

Requirements:A willingness to help others, to provide non-judgemental support, care and a positive influence in the lives of low-income families.

To learn more or to find out about the next training, contact the FIAEP office, 304-728-5006.
